Round Tables

Our Round Table events are discussion forums that brings together groups of experts, thought leaders, or influential stakeholders from a particular industry or focus area to have an open dialogue and exchange on key topics, challenges, and ideas, yielding collaborative outcomes. Our Round Table events will typically include 10 - 15 participants with no specific hierarchy engaged in facilitated conversations that allow each participant to contribute their view points and perspectives on well-defined themes with focused questions that frame the discussions rather than be overly open-ended.

The intended outcomes of such sessions include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • New insights, shared understandings, networking relationships
  • Inputs to research, advisory reports, policy positions etc.
  • Solutions to common challenges that the SASDC can implement as new projects and/or programmes.

Round Table Event: Procurement is the new battleground. Rethinking supplier diversity in a market where access is everything

Procurement used to be the back office. The place where decisions got executed, not made. That era is over. Today, how you buy says as much about your business as what you sell, and the procurement table is where transformation, resilience, and ESG either become real or stay theoretical.

WHY THIS, WHY NOW

Markets are tighter. Supply chains are more complex. Corporates are being measured on outcomes, not intentions. This Roundtable unpacks the shifting procurement landscape and asks the harder question: how do we move from compliance-driven supplier diversity to strategic partnerships that actually build long-term economic value

WHAT WE WILL UNPACK

  • Procurement as a strategic lever, not a purchasing function
  • How to move beyond compliance-driven supplier diversity programs toward strategic partnerships
  • Real market access for Black, women and youthowned businesses
  • Balancing transformation, ESG and supply chain resilience
  • From transactional spend to long-term economic value
  • Building procurement partnerships that hold beyond reporting cycles

WHO SHOULD BE IN THE ROOM

Procurement and ESD leaders, transformation executives, supplier development managers, the ESDCoP, and SASDC corporate members and nonmembers ready to rethink the playbook.
